Worlds Page of Fame

Team 2360N Nemesis had an impressive season, consistently ranking among the top teams in every competition. After going 10-1 at a local event and an undefeated 9-0 at the Illinois State Championship, where they placed 2nd out of 57 teams, they secured a spot at Worlds through a miraculous turn of events from the waitlist. Despite getting knocked out in the elimination round at Worlds, they placed 9th in qualifications with an 8-2 record. Throughout the season, Nemesis achieved a highscore 304 points in skills runs (4th highest in Illinois), and earned both the Tournament Finalist and Create Award, marking a season full of memorable moments. 

The journey of senior team 2360N to Worlds was atypical in this shortened season, having competed in only one remote regular season skills tournament that qualified them for the State tournament.   Remotely "at" State, 2360N scored 211 out of a possible 252 skills points for 7th place in the state rankings, leading to the Worlds qualification.  The team then took a risk in constructing a new, more advanced robot for the Worlds Live Remote Skills (LRS) competition.  They fared well, remarkably scoring 182 points with a robot that had been completed days prior to the event.

Freshmen team 2360A inspired countless IPSD 204 elementary school students by creating a student-to-student STEAM workshop through the early part of 2021.  This effort was recognized as a recipient the REC's Community Award Online Challenge Presented by Google.  As part of this recognition, the team qualified for and participated in Worlds Live Remote Skills (LRS).  The team has also been invited to meet with Congress, in a virtual format, to advocate for STEAM education in June.

Two teams—2360V and 2360X—participated in the Worlds tournament for 2017-18 in Louisville.  Team 2360V included Ayushi Bhawnani, Ashley Duncan, Sara Jiang, Fayha Nazeer, Anushka Parikh, and Clarice Reeves.  Team 2360X consisted of Ellie Evans, Safiy Khan, Rohan Sanjay, Andy Song, Frederick Tian, and Geoffrey Tian.
